I guess the log cabin was a by product of wooden stake production? :D:D

Makes at least as much sense as Cowboys versus Aliens.

Not the poster; your note on stakes. I knew he was called a railsplitter and don't recall any references to stakes, cept the high ones with selecting Grant.

In Lincoln's time the median lifespan for a man was a bit under 50 years. They had a lot more to worry about than chasing ghosties.

The trailer does make it look good doesn't it?

I'm really over the romanticized Hollywood vampire crap. One of the better vamp movies in the last while imo was 30 Days of Night. The acting was not great, but the "feral" vampires were a blast.

We saw Dark Shadows recently. It pokes a few well aimed jabs at the teeny bopper vampire movies. . .

That one is on my list of movies to see. Nobody does weird quite like Johnny Depp.

Yeah, railsplitter, I think it was the equivalent of contemporary insults, like "flip-flopper. Or maybe, "hick" given the times. Don't forget George Santayana's famous aphorism, "those who don't.......".

Case in point... Edward Scissorhands.

Actually, it referred to splitting fence rails, work Abe did as a young man. I think it was used by his supporters to show that he was a man of the people.

You might be correct about supporters. I'll keep that in mind. It can be used both ways. Thanks.
