Have I lost track of time, or has it been awhile since the last time the PSEBS visited a public house in the Seattle area?
Any interest in a gathering within the next few weeks?

I'm going to be in the San Juans on June 20-21st. How about June 14th? How about someplace close to the south end? Say Stella Pizza (http://www.stellarpizza.com/) in Georgetown?

We could do Stella's. The Center For Wooden Boat's Wooden Boat Festival is coming up on the 4th of July weekend as well—faster than one thinks.

Terry,
It's funny but I've been thinking the same thing lately. We'll also be out of town around the 4th, so the June 14th date sounds like a reasonable time. Georgetown would be cool too. I knew my elbow was needing a little extra exercise :D .

The 14th sounds good. I retire on the 13th, so I'll be up for something that takes me in a new direction. Time? Location? Directions?

Have fun!

Since I started the thread, I'll take the lead on picking a time. Stella's fills up after about 7:00 - 7:30 in the evenings. So, how about we try to grab one of the big tables at the door at about 6:00?
Directions are on the Stella Pizza Direction Page (http://www.stellarpizza.com/directions.htm) of their website.

That sounds good Terry. I was just thinking of our last get together at Hales and remembering that we had a fairly large turnout. They said that they would have appreciated a heads up that we were coming. I wonder if this might be a good idea this time?
In any case, just save us two chairs. Betsy's game for meeting the group so it looks like you get to meet the new spouse.
See ya there.

Jamie's got a point, I'll tell Stella's we're coming. Could those interested send me an e-mail (tetapa@earthlink.net) so that I can let Stella's have a heads up on how many to expect.

Well Terry, it looks like Earthlink has spam blocked my message so I'm not sure if you got it or not. Therefore I'll tell you through the Forum to save two spots for us. See ya Saturday.
Now, if I could just get Earthlink to block the vast majority of the reconstituted pork products that happen to show up at my Earthlink address... ;)

I called Stella Pizza & Ale today. I said we would be a group from 6 - 12 people. I was told that if we're there by 6:00pm on Saturday, the place won't be busy yet. In other words, no problem.
I'll try to get there a bit early, and grab one of the big round tables near the door. I'll be the one "Thinking globally, and drinking locally (http://georgetownbeer.com/index.htm)".

Don't be too late Art, we've got to get to another event so we'll have to leave just a little early and I really would love to see the latest Dark Harbor pictures. See ya there.
Jamie
Annie and I will try to make it. Lots going on with the kids right now but we hope to make a little time for us so called grown ups.

Dang, An out of town friend called about coming by in the afternoon. He ran late and we all ran late and then it was too late to get to Georgetown before the concert we were attending. So it goes. I hope to see you folks next time.

How about a Friday: 8th, 15th or 22nd? I think the 15th might be good. After that, perhaps people are getting preoccupied with the Labor Day weekend?
Location? Couple of places come to mind: the new Outback across the steet from the old Naval Reserve Center near the CWB, or the Ivars with the patio on the ship canal? The latter sounds nice, nautical and less expensive.

Sorry--life's full to overflowing just now. Family visiting this weekend, then leaving for 2.5 weeks in the Baltics. Daughter getting married on Aug. 21, then running away to Guemes Island for L-Day. Hold this thought though; it's a good one. I'm going to the Kinetic Sculpture Race in PT week after the boat show. Ever seen that? A good excuse to get outa the city...

That should be interesting — my mother was born in Daugavpils (Latvia).
Have a good trip.
So, you guys want to get together and swill some more beer do ya? Don't you folks ever quit drinking beer? Good! Count me and Annie in. The patio at Ivar's could be good, but probably packed with people. I was there a few weeks ago and the service was in the toilet. How about one of the fine digs along Ballard Avenue, or perhaps The Sloop Tavern on Market Street on the way to Shilshole? Yeah I know, the "Sloop" can get a little smokey at times, but it's been pretty good lately. It has good tavern food, some big tables, good service, colorful clientele, huge beers for $5.00 (Slooper Sized) and a nice wood model of a Concordia Yawl in a glass case. Maybe Dave and Margo could make this one?

a nice wood model of a Concordia Yawl in a glass case Roger - You're a tempting man. Even if the service was in the toilet, the best salmon I've ever had was at a table at Ivar's.
Unfortunately, I am at this very hour breaking the news to Dave that we're flying to Maine in two weeks for the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta. :D We passed on the Classic Yacht Cruise in favor of staying home and getting some progress made, but when the photo of Arapaho and Coriolis (thread in Misc. Boat) landed in my in-box this evening, I couldn't take any more. Surprising low fares from Jacksonville to Bangor :D
Don't worry, I've got enough sky miles in reserve to get us back to Seattle some day.
Hope you guys (and gals) get together and have a blast.

I'm up for it and I think the Sloop is a good old sailing bar but I have hated walking out of there smelling as if I'd smoked three packs in a closet. Frankly, I know the dear wife probably won't brave that atmosphere and I do think it would be fun for you all to meet. If only they had a deck? I fyou think it's a bit better than it used to be I'm still game for it. Maybe I'll try to stop in one of these nights and check it out. Ivars has interest but I have no idea what the service might be for a bigger group. I think we could go with the 15th. Any other thoughts?
Dang Kermit, two and a half weeks in the Baltic. It's truly a shame the burdens life puts on a man that makes him miss such an august gathering. :D
