I am looking for a 55' drawing - a GAP will actual suffice from Philip Rhodes, probably one of his last.
I know that he left his archive to Mystic Seaport Museum, but I have no idea how to approach them for the right design. I have very little information about this particular boat that was found in deplorable condition.
This is a serious restauration project and this has to be executed with utmost care since it is one of the last Rhode's ever built.

The Rhodes plans are actually scattered around some, but Mystic probably has more than anyone. E-mail shipsplans@mysticseaport.org and include as much information as you can to help them recognize the plan you are after.

D'ARTOIS,

An original name, owner, or design number will help Mystic. This information is published in the book by Richard Henderson, Philip L Rhodes and His Yacht Designs.

55's are fairly rare in the cataloge, a late 55' was launched as Ocean Queen V, aux. centerboard yawl for Raymond M. Demere, 1950, design number 601. She's 54'6" LOA, 38' LWL, 13'7" Beam, 6'draft.

Or 53' Carina II, #635, centerboard yawl for Richard S. Nye in 1955

Or #661, 56'3" sloop Caper for H, Irving Pratt in 1957.

Or #688, 53'6" aux. yawl Nina VI, for Dr. Franco Mazzucchelli, in 1958.

Or #735, Grey Ghost I, 55' express cruiser in 1962.

And finally a 45'LWL laminated wood ketch for Donald Dalziel of Berkley Calf. built by Lester Stone in 1970.

Raymond Demere (Sr.) of Savannah, GA died just last year. I've sailed with his son and namesake. AFAIK Ocean Queen V is owned by Senior's brother and is still sailed in San Francisco. There's a half model of her in the Savannah Yacht Club... and I may even have a set of her lines somewhere.
