No comment on the J.P. Morgan debacles?

I have been watching this for a week or so, have I missed thread?
William Black says the megabank’s $2 billion losses should prompt the government to revise the rules for financial regulation.

I don't think most people have connected the dots.
"Banning books in spite of the 1st amendment, but refusing to regulate guns in spite of "well regulated militia' being in the 2nd amendment makes no sense. Can't think of anyone ever shot by a book

If J.P.Morgan Chase lost two billion, who 'won' it?

Gone into thin air Milo, it probably never really existed other than a notional figure in the ether.

Sure. Everybody against Dodd-Frank and the Volcker Rule are wrong, and Rolling Stone Editor Matt Taiibi is right.

Someone did win it. Every loser supports a winner(s). But we don't know the winner(s) because trades in derivatives are unregulated with no public exposure until the bank shows up for a bail-out.

Compared to the Murdoch scandal in the UK the JP Morgan scandal is on the boil in the US right now.
On today's news Rebekah Brooks and her huband and some employees were charged with concealing evidence from the police. She admitted to a parliamentary committee in 2002 Murdochs papers were paying off the police and abso lutly nothing came of it. Hows that for the hot hand of justice?
The JP Morgan scandal was a gift from God for the president and those who want to disconnect bank wagering from the Federal Deposit Insurance Commission.

                    From the link ...

"Banks are more efficient when shrunk to the point that they can no longer endanger the world economy. But because JPMorgan and similar banks are the leading contributors to Democrats and Republicans, neither political party has the courage to order them to reform."

I'll add that both versions of the Australian political system have disallowed the kind of trading JPM are engaged in, to our considerable gain. All of Australia's banks are strong, all survived the GFC handsomely.

One of the beefs I have with Obama is his unwillingness to grasp the nettle on this.

I can handle two scandals at the same time.

How big does this have to get to be worthy of attention?

I saw a clip on the news of Obama sitting on a sofa lecturing 5 women (they all looked like frumpy housewives?) about what a fine company JP Morgan Chase is and how fantastic their CEO is. Same segment talked about 2 billion dollars being perhaps 10% of the annual profit.

It's kind of funny hearing all the communist dupes calling for more, more, much more oversight and regulation, but if ExxonMobil's profit decreased by 2 billion dollars there would be this sigh of satisfaction from the dupes that things were on the way to being right with the world.

Milo's tenuous grasp on reality slips again. You'll note regressives are big on shallow 'analysis', which is why Fox News ( an oxymoron ) has the audience it does. Their insistence on McCarthy-like language is sort of amusing, if it weren't so pathetic.

And BTW, if ExxonMobil's profits dropped by two billion bucks, think of the fewer lobbyists they could hire.
