Well, it's official. Obama starts his campaign to become the first POTUS to openly run as a communst on Karl Marx's birthday with the extremely well known communist slogan as his official slogan.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/inside-politics/2012/apr/30/new-obama-slogan-has-long-ties-marxism-socialism/

I have to admit I was wrong when I said he was socialist, but I'm glad he has openly revealed himself to us as a communist.

Yes, "forward" is definitely a line that's been used once or twice before. Personally I think it reveals him as a tool of the International Jewish Conspiracy, in thrall to the Rothschilds - What, you never heard of the Jewish Daily Forward (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Forward)?

The Obama campaign chose this slogan specifically so that the right wing wing nut's heads would explode, and it seems to be working, but I am surprised that two of the Bilges more respected conservatives, first Concordia33 and now Milo have fallen for it.

All ideologies get into the craziest parsing of symbols when they are devoid of content. Church persecutions were built on fine grammatical points. Both the Nazis and the Stalinists slaughtered people who got their commas wrong. In the sixties I vividly recall "New" Lefties every bit as rigid as the Old Left dialectically arguing how many commissars could dance on the head of a pin. And now we have would-be philosophs like Limbaugh, Morton, Drudge, Carr et alia pursuing a form of language analysis that would baffle Ayer.

Morning Milo, nice to see you back in harness. Should be a fun campaign. Romney is getting a lot of attention over here BTW, our media seems just as unsettled about the Mormon thing as parts of yours do. For some, Mayday is a day to celebrate a lost cause, for others, Mayday is the symbol for ultimate distress and a call for all who hear it to drop everything and respond to the crisis. It's just so interesting that Obama's 'new' slogan for this campaign was released to hit the Internet on Mayday. Fine, let the communists who've taken over the Democratic party and those they've deluded celebrate. Meanwhile, those of us who care about this country are calling 'Mayday, Mayday, Mayday.'

Maybe Milo is just getting the dupes to show themselves. Meanwhile, their communist masters work quietly in the background.

One of the dupes was so duped he posted a link to Rachel Maddow, can you believe it?

Let's review the basics:

There's another reason for working inside the system. Dostoyevsky (http://forum.woodenboat.com/wiki/Dostoyevsky) said that taking a new step is what people fear most. Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and chance the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution. To bring on this reformation requires that the organizer work inside the system, among not only the middle class but the 40 per cent of American families – more than seventy million people – whose income range from $5,000 to $10,000 a year [in 1971]. They cannot be dismissed by labeling them blue collar or hard hat. They will not continue to be relatively passive and slightly challenging. If we fail to communicate with them, if we don't encourage them to form alliances with us, they will move to the right. Maybe they will anyway, but let's not let it happen by default.[3] (http://forum.woodenboat.com/#cite_note-RULES-2)

I find the fact that we are arguing over a campaign slogan rather than actual issues another example of the insanity that has taken over our nation.

I believe our system used to work with people donating to politicians because they believed in what those politicians believed. Now we have donors buying the opinions/beliefs of politicians who will believe whatever the people writing the checks want them to. That is, I think, why the "establishment" wants Romney: he'll be their puppet.

I don't think I've ever seen a better example of how the extreme partisan sector of the media can manipulate so many supposedly 'thinking' people, than this one.

Two weeks ago, the word 'forward' was an ordinary word in the English language, a word usable as a noun or verb, describing a direction.... either a physical phenomenon ('he walked forward') or as a metaphor for progress ('the world has moved forward from the Middle Ages to the Modern era'). We used the word in everyday life without a second thought....

Then, last week, a single article in the Washington Times, a very right wing newspaper, 'created' an association for the word; the presupposition that, when used in a political context, the word was a virtual code word for Marxism, Communism, what have you....

Suddenly, it seems that every right winger under the sun suddenly discovered that the word 'forward' was indeed a metaphor for communism or Marxism, and seemingly dozens of examples were produced to support the idea..... and they all claimed that it was obvious, and clear, that Obama's new campaign slogan was a blatant signal that Obama was indeed one of those terrible 'ists' that the world went crazy with fear on, back in the 50's and 60's.

It is, of course, utterly laughable.... but sobering, at the same time. The power of this kind of crap should be obvious to everyone, this week... but I'd be willing to bet that 6 months from now, before the election, there will be people still convinced that the use of the word 'forward' was unquestionably a code word for socialism/communism/marxism, etc......

Just like the woman at one of John McCain's town hall forum in 2008, who told McCain that Obama was a Muslim, and whom McCain tried to disabuse of that lie.... this stuff NEVER goes away.Poor old Mitt. He seriously wants to be President and is working hard to accomplish it. He just doesn't realize that the Repubs don't really want control again just yet, as there are still too many problems to be solved from their last rampage through the treasury. And they surely don't want a Mormon. So while he works his butt off campaigning and putting on a good show, the right wing sabotages him, but in a way that makes it look like they are seriously serious about winning.

I wonder if he really wants to be president or just likes the running part.

Interesting, I'm still waiting for Obama to stop running and BE president...........

Interesting to me is that the aging Republican mob seems to be indulging a second-childhood reversion to the days of their youth, when the word "communist" was used to incite hatred, frenzy, violence, and defense spending.

Can anyone seriously believe that the Communist Party, which is not much of a political player even in Russia, constitutes a threat to the US?

I think it's the onset of dementia.

PS— to anticipate a potential objection, I'd argue that we might be more threatened by Chinese capitalism than by Chinese communism.

I think it was ignorance more than a communist message. But also a funny irony.

Oh yea, it's a real knee-slapper. What will they think of next?

Just saving this in case Bobbys missed it. We wouldn't want him to accidently pass up something to feign outrage about.

I'd argue that we might be more threatened by Chinese capitalism than by Chinese communism. I've said for years that for a bunch of godless commies those folks are some cunning capitalists. The way things are going, there won't be a shot fired - they'll simply foreclose.

Wisconsin had Fighting Bob Lafollette in the US Senate forever and by today's Drudge standard he was a raving commie. You know those Prairie League people. Coops. Small farmers. Workers' rights. Universal franchise. Commies all.

Suspicions confirmed!
The Commies got us by the short hairs long ago. The US Army's manual called "Drill and Ceremonies" starts out with the command" FORWARD MARCH"! I always figured those NCO's had a hidden agenda.

I was hoping he was going to go with Winning The Future.

Mitt seems to going with Fight For America.

As far as slogans go I'm liking the Obama slogan because to me it reveals that he has not made much progress in the last few years and it is time to get moving.

MItt's slogan begs the question, who are we fighting, and when did "they" take america?

My favorite is a "Green New Deal for America".

Anyone here NOT cognisant of "GOING FORWARD" being current buzzwords in our culture? Big Bizznez, Government, Education, Industry, you name it, we hear "GOING FORWARD" several times EVERY DAY. Are they all Communists, Milo?
