View Full Version : Water guns banned, handguns allowed, at GOP convention.

This article made me laugh, wanted to share it here.

Reveals the ridiculousness of the GOP 2A politics. Legally, (armchair lawyer here), it seems that water guns (cream pies, glitter bombs) would be a form of free speech protected by the first amendment. Yet, the GOP obviously puts a lower importance on the non-Second amendments to the Bill of Rights.

The headline belies the story content that handguns are not allowed at the convention itself, but are not forbidden in all the public areas that Florida law not only allows concealed weapons, but actually prohibits any level of gun banning. It's bad enough as is, without misleading headlines.

people should wear squirting boutonnieres, squirt guns would definitely be a bad idea.

One can only hope that a large amount of alcohol combined with seriously angry debate will be the flavour of the day at this convention. We can hope can't we?
