Folk boat keel bolts screwed in or?
I dont mind this job when they are in a pocket in the side ...no probs
or right the way through again ...no probs
but i suspect mine may be screwed in to the keel
although i have nuts on top of the bolts/threaded bar whatever it is on the inside?
it rests on the road trailer and today i cut a hole in the long plate it rests on[from underneath]not easy with a small grinder laid on my back] right through and dropped out a 6"x6" piece of steel
right here a keel bolt is and i expected to see a bolt...but nothing a slight indentation but its smaller size than the bolt so i dont think its the bolt
Its annoying because i could of just driven through the bolt[from inside]
but if there is no bolt what is it...screwed straight into the keel?
i dont like the sound of that!
is this method sometimes normal on folkboats?
ill add some pics tomorrow

If your folkboat was built to Nordic class, then you should have access to your nuts from the side of the keel. Various builders used different methods if not built to the rules. Cheers.
