I was listening to the radio in the car yesterday with my son.
All war doom and gloom.

Then this storyY>Y>

A house fire in Brisbane killed 11 people from grandma to toddlers. (I think it was a traditional Tongan community family home)
The Builders labourers federation organised a rebuild of the home ready for easter, they contacted local tradies and businesses for help. NOT ONE PERSON asked for money. All supplies and labour were donated and the house is ready.

Organised and built in 8 weeks, a quality 2 storey home.

Lovely what a community can do to help each other.

Right. Lovely idea.

The "Tradies" all chipped in and rebuilt the house for Easter. That IS a nice show of community solidarity.

Too bad it's standing empty since the BLEEDIN' FAMILY ALL DIED!

Wot did I miss?

I'm pretty sure not all of them died Vince. Got a lot of coverage here at the time.

Aside from 11 dead people, yes, an excellent story Meli .

Of course it's really sad too, but better to support the living than dwell on the lost.

The Tongan survivors of a fire which claimed the lives of 11 family members in Brisbane last year, have received the keys to their newly rebuilt home in an informal but emotional ceremony.

Odd. The headline says they were Samoan and the text says they were Tongan.
