At the risk of being redundant, the first, most basic right a child has is to be born into a home where he is wanted.

Nothing is gained by forcing a woman to bear a child she'd rather not have.

My old proposal is looking better: the one about garnishing 7% of the father's pay with no visitation rights. At some point the guys will be more careful.

So what you're really saying is the first right of a child is to not be born in the first place? Until now I hadn't considered the possibility that being aborted is the first right of an unborn child.

I think that's an excellent idea. The market has been successfully doing this with sex for thousands of years. Why not marriage, too?

Something screwed up! I said, why don't they find the most socially deficient, fattest, ugliest, toothless mother who can't cook and have him marry her! I would think most of the moms are looking for a good guy, but the guys are just being too darn selective!

Is their fault or the guys who knock them up and run away from responsibilities or beat them until they have to leave to protect themselves?

Now that would be a shotgun wedding, eh? But the difference is this, when we subsidize birth control, we are subsidizing her fun, not his. He asks for no subsidy, only opportunity.

Viagra is subsidized for "HIS" fun....so, a pregnancy resulting is OK? I married, as I wanted a family. I had 8 pregnancy's, yet lost 4, at 8 weeks along.(Who should be blamed?)I had scripts. I had to be bedridden, with no stairs till past 28 weeks. IT WAS MY CHOICE. My x chose this at the time to find other entertainment. Was it my fault for ditching the marriage, yet keeping the baby's? I have been happily married for 19 years now, to a man who knows commitment. This war on women needs a balance. NO woman I know, has a baby because its to inconvenient to use protection. They BELIEVE the father when they say-yes-I will be a father. As I have said before, make females tubes blocked, till they get a license to reproduce. Car, Gun, you need a license-what is more important than a human? I love all our kids and grand kids, yet watched my daughters make the same mistake. A woman will put up with much to keep a family together. Men, just walk away and send a check. We cant go back to the years where marriage was forever. We can make men be more responsible for their children. This bill is such a joke.
