Power Transfer Switch

The photo below is of a Blue Sea battery switch with 1-off-2 positions. It has no position for "both." Is there any reason why it couldn't be used as a power transfer switch from shore power to inverter?

You would need to make sure that it is rated for the AC voltage you need. Also I think that that switch is single pole only. You need a double pole double throw switch for shore power / inverter - you should switch the neutral and the hot when switching between 2 differant AC systems.
