i remember seeing the write up for a double ended motor sailer of about 25 feet in length quite a few years back in one of those little catalogs that contain a whole slew of plans from different designers-this was an actual article in the plans catalog- you know the one that you used to get free with a subscription to the boat builder magazine? any one know what boat or who the designer might have been?
Dutch, might it be one of Sam Devlin 'Oysta' series? There are four of them, in lengths of 25, 28, 30, and 42 feet. They are gaff rigged sloops although the 42 footer has a small mizzen. I think they are gorgeous looking and I'm going to send off for study plans for the 28 footer. Check out his website.

Does the Rudder Treasury ring a bell?
That little paperback catalog had designs by a number of people.
Wm. Garden
LFH
Steward
to name a few.
I have one buried somewhere, sigh.
Or was it in one of the Popular Mechanics boat catalogs.
Also take a look at David Goodchild's web site.
He has a ton of old designs listed.

could you give us a bit more info on that Sprague design, please?Scott lives in neighboring Poulso WA and does business as Accumar Marine. These days he mostly designs and installs waterfront trams but he has done some wonderful boats over the years. You can find the 26-footer in WoodenBoat #127. One builder has a web page about his project here:
