But why buy their sause? The Anchor bar recipe was made with Frank's Red Hot Sauce...readily available. You'll be wanting the "original recipe", which actually isn't. A few years back, they changed the recipe, replacing fresh garlic with powdered: the taste has suffered. But I digress.

At any rate, you most emphatically don't want Tabasco sauce...it's nothing but flavorless capsicum heat. Frank's, as thei slogan goes, "adds flavor, not just heat!"

The Anchor bar sauce recipe is simplicity itself: 3 parts Frank's Original Red Hot Sauce, 2 parts melted butter. Melt the butter in a saucepan then whisk in the Franks.

Don't forget the blue cheese dressing on the side.

8 tablespoons Louisiana hot sauce (Frank's is the brand used in Buffalo)
8 tablespoons unsalted butter or margarine
1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
salt to taste
