West pump problem

You know those little extension tubes that let the pump suck from the bottom? I've had several that split and the pump winds up sucking air. Anyone else have this problem? Can you use anything else(something that won't split) besides the polywhatever tubing that comes with the pump?

Why not. Any tube that will fit. All sorts of plastic tubing in the hardware store. Wrap a layer of glass and epoxy around the split tube, let it cure and reinsert.
