View Full Version : Bolger's Birdwatcher

I've just gotten a Bolger Birdwatcher which was in need of a nice home.
This is a 23.5-ft double ended sharpie which looks a little like a Chesapeake crab skiff or maybe a well-simplified Munroe Egret.
In the event, I'd be interested in trading notes on building and fitting out with anyone else who's got one, or who had one.
Just email me.

Is that the one where you can sit under a plexi cover and look out in the rain? Bolger is such a trip.

That's the one.
The dark lexan is three-way.
1. Anti sun
2. Anti rain, though you might need a cover for the long central "hatch"
3. Vertical sponsons if you're knocked down on beam ends.
and I guess 4, if you've got kids, it keeps the kids on board the boat.

Check with Jim Michalak. He built one and owned it for a number of years. Jim went on to design a shorter pram version, of which several have been built.
His website is http://homepages.apci.net/~michalak/

If you don't know about it already, there's a newsgroup for Bolger boat fanciers:
