So far so good. Will you offer a bit more for us to comment on?

Don't know which Glen L power dory the poster is wanting to know about but I've always thought the Sweet Caroline was a lot of capable, easy loading boat for the money. The bottom is dead flat and will definitely pound some underway but maybe not as much as one would think because that flat bottom never generates much lift so the nose stays down and allows the boat to skip across the tops of the chop. John Gardner had high praise for the 14' Flat Iron Skiff in one of his books and Sweet Caroline is just a longer version of that.

If I were looking for an outboard dory design, I do believe the 19' three-plank Gardner semi-dory would be the one I'd choose.

Thread drift:
Terry, I was over at Mystic a few weeks ago and set foot in their 16 foot Gardner semi-dory. That thing is SHOCKINGLY stable for her size. I was very, very impressed...

Just imagine that same boat, but just under 20' long and a bit wider. Seems like the perfect OB skiff for exploring these big lakes.

Heck, he even drew it at 22 feet and put it in a book as well. That'd be an absolute beast on bigger water.

What book? I haven't seen the 22-footer.

Wooden boats to build and use, p. 182+
By his own admission that 22 foot work dory is an extension of the smaller dories, having only changed the top panel into a single plank instead of two, and a little massaging to work the size out.
