Democrats Dispirited About Voting in 2012

Democrats' Relative Enthusiasm Is Lowest in a Decade
The difference between Democrats' enthusiasm and Republicans' enthusiasm can be summarized by plotting the difference in the two groups' net enthusiasm scores -- that is, the percentage of each group saying they are more enthusiastic minus the percentage less enthusiastic.
Democrats' net enthusiasm (+1) now trails Republicans' net enthusiasm (+28) by 27 percentage points. By contrast, Democrats held the advantage on net enthusiasm throughout 2008 -- on several occasions, by better than 40-point margins. Democrats occasionally trailed Republicans in net enthusiasm in 2004, but never by as much as is seen today. The current balance of enthusiasm among Republicans and Democrats is similar to what Gallup found in the first few months of 2000.
Democrats are as likely to be "less enthusiastic" about voting in 2012 as they are to be "more enthusiastic." This contrasts with Democrats' strong enthusiasm during 2008 and 2004, and differs markedly from Republicans, who, by 2 to 1, are more rather than less enthusiastic today.

Keep believing that nonsense, but every democrat I talk to is horrified at the prospect of a republican president. Unlike me, most democrats are pro-choice, and they understand that the president in office after the election will certainly shape the Supreme Court for years to come.

The real question is whether Tea Party members will show up at the polls in 2012 if Mitt Romney wins the nomination. I don't see them getting excited about someone like Mitt or Christie.

Keep believing that nonsense...............we must all hang together, or surely we will be hung separately.

OH yeah! Believe, believe, believe that American Democrats are going into meltdown and that any Rightwing lunatic you people put up will waltz into the US presidency. Tell your friends and meditate on it every night. Get bumper stickers that say; "Obama is Going to Implode". Or, "The Teaparty Sets You Free". Or, "Paul for All!". Of course, just as Dorothy found out, this will only work if you really BELIEVE!

Seems to me trying to quantify enthusiasm is like trying to explain the difference between damp and moist.

The presidency is still a bit different than a seat in Congress or the Senate; most people want to vote for someone in a presidential election, not against someone. Very seldom will someone get elected just because the other guy isn't perfect (in their view).

John Kerry found that out in 2004 and he got a surprise on election day. Dewey assumed he was elected in 1948 because people were dissatisfied with Truman.

Republicans will make a big mistake to think that President Obama won't be able to make a compelling case to the American people defending his actions as president. The republican candidate will have to stand for something that can be sold to the electorate--and they will need every republican voter to vote in order to win. How's that going to work for the ultra right when Mitt Romney is out on the campaign trail defending his record? They are going to smell RINO the moment Romney starts wooing independents.

That's why everyone is afraid of Ron Paul. You can tell that just buy DNC Normans quick to kill responses every time he is mentioned. If you want to be free and have the ability to feed and cloth yourself do the opposite of what Norman tells you to.

Your first mistake is to think that Norman tells me anything. Your second mistake is to think that Ron Paul is electable. Your third mistake is to believe that he could govern if elected.

Your biggest mistake is to assume that you have any credibility with me.

That's a lot of mistakes. I've never had a bit of trouble feeding myself, and I have enough blue jeans, undies, socks, and T shirts to last me the rest of my life. Have a good day.
