Re: I think I want this bike
Unless it's really perfect 3200 seems a bit steep. If it has the CV carbs (constant velocity) the diaphragms could be cracked or dry rotted and new bits are very hard to find. OTOH if it has conventional carbs with cable slides, bob's yer uncle. You might want to check on availability of fork seals, gaskets, brake bits and the like. That's why I chose the Guzzi.Brute force and ignorance, all in one bulky and unappealing packageComment

This is the first lesson ye should learn: There is so much good in the worst of us, and so much bad in the best of us, it doesn't behoove any of us to speak evil of the rest of us.

Re: I think I want this bike
Nice looking bike, but my fear with buying a custom bike/car/whatever.. is that is can look good....but how is the workmanship??? I would be shooting for the 2500 range myself if all looks good, and runs well. One thing though..... have you riden it?? Im alittle concerned that they are mixing up the Cafe racer world, with the chopper world... Im not to keen on the zero suspention travel on the back... Should realy have the rear higher, and more weight on the front IMHO. Also that front fork seems allful tucked in.... might want to check to see if something has not been butcherd up in the neck area to get the "look"
Coelacanth Im with you... Big Guzzi fan!!!! Last bikes were a 77 RD400, and a old GS650GL Suzu that I had slightly taller shocks on the rear, superbike bar, and sucked the firks a inch up the trees to get rid of some of that 80's "cruzer" look and ride. That Suzu was a sweet bike and I hated to see it go, along with the RD, but kids...house...etc.. it happands... Next ride will be a Guzzi when I find the right starting point!!Paul BComment

I'd talk'em down $500 because there's no seat pad.“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Re: I think I want this bike
unless your plan is to sit it in your garage and maybe take a trip around the block
once a month, I would run, not walk, away from that. Take it from someone who
just had a 78 Yamaha rebuilt...........parts are incredibly hard to find for bikes that
old. I spent almost 6 months trying to find a set of aftermarket or NOS pistons and
rings. Regardless of current condition, it's still an old bike, and things will go bad.Originally posted by George JungDon't under-estimate Jack. He's purty damned talentedComment

Save your pennies Chad and buy a modern Triumph Thruxton.
If you do want a bike from the '70s, Yamaha XS650 twins have a strong following, and just about every part is readily available"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations,
for nature cannot be fooled."
