View Full Version : un-used plans
Are un-used plans reselable? Where would you "solicit" for them? (I'm in the buying mode not selling)

I'd imagine they can be re-sold, since the main requirement is often that just one boat be built from one set of plans. It would be up to the seller to certify that no boat had been built from the plans he/she sells to you.
I get the impression that some folks collect plans ad infinitim and never actually do get around to building many of them. You might advertise in Messing About in Boats for plans you're interested in.

The resalability of plans varies according to the license given by the designer. Some don't specify a restriction on resale or other form of transfer (for example, a gift) to third parties and some do. Remember, you have not bought anything tangible, the physical plans not withstanding: you've bought permission to make a copy of the design as described by the plans.
