Might not have a sailing rig, but it's got a "bilage drain". Where you figure the "bilage" is and why do you need to drain it....:-)

That's what you could get an actual custom wooden lapstrake whitehall hand-built by a professional skilled craftsman for. This is a FG boat with wood trim.

'Course, considering the cost of teak these days, them "teakwood" oars might be part of what's driving the cost up.

Only used four times since 2002 also. That is the really sad part.

And $30K for a new one! For a pulling boat! I guess you don't ask what a sailing rig would cost. My first house cost less than that....there we are showing our age again.

It occurred to me that 'bilage' might be the Bile that accumlates in the Bilge. So, I dragged out the ol' Concise Oxford Dictionary, and it turns out that one definition of 'bile' isn't all that different from the definition of 'bilge-water'. No direct link through etymology, though.

Perhaps a 'bilage drain' is exactly what the WBF Bilge needs!

They can ASK for that price, no guarantee they will get it.

Shoot, on Seattle CL I can buy a 29' fbrglass sailboat for less than that. WITH sails, electronics and a Danforth to boot.

That boat has popped up on the Richmond CL a few times over the past several months.

Think it will sell? Are there any FG boats that are classics? What happens when you pack a mismatched pair of oars, 1 teak and 1 spruce? Are footstops worth $465 extra? Teak floorboards for $3200??? At least the bilage drain is only a hundred or so - not bad for a hole. So many questions ... but the big one is, what's the profit margin on a new $15K boat with &15K of accessories?
