WTH???

I was sitting here enjoying my toothache and lunch of nachos when Katherine calls and hits me with, "Did you notice one of the tiles broke in the shower this morning?"

me, "Yes."

Katherine, "How 'bout we gut the master bath this weekend?"

I feel like curling into the fetal position and sucking my thumb. Don't get me wrong I could have it gutted in a few hours:D but then what???

Why, you hand her a list of things you'll be needing, with a new Sawzall and Multimaster about halfway down.

You've not been a husband long, have ya?:d

You DO have more than one bathroom, don't you?

Don't forget the accessories for the Multimaster, which must include a Fein vacuum to plug it into. Don't want that noxious grout dust in the air.

That's the first thing I thought as well. He said master though, so maybe he'll be alright.

Now I see you working, Paul. I was just looking at your games thread . . . looking for some way to distract the superintendent?

Had a girl friend once whose parents had a clos-o-mat (Or something like that) They were so proud of it, they told everyone who walked in the door, the minute they walked in the door, allllll about it. My immediate thought was... This is waaaaay more information than I need to know. The thing they seemed to like the best was the warm water bidet function, with the warm air blow dry feature....
I'll be happy with indoor plumbing in winter, and a patch of grass in warmer weather....

Make sure you shop for long leadtime items and insist that you don't start until everythng is in......that ought to get you into the winter months, it took my wife a month to pick the tile and another month for the Corion counter material to match. All in all, took the wife about 4 months to get everything on site and it took me 4 days to do the job.

SWMBO doesn't like the tiles or the shower in ours, despite the fact that 18months ago she picked both. For goodness sake, how long do you spend in the bathroom? We are on tank water and have no bath and (in spite of the present wet conditions) short showers are the norm.

So, ya, then what? Full remodel? New tile? Are you going to do it, Paul?

Are you going to do it, Paul?Well yeah, eventually. . . . . .but there's gonna be a lot of whining involved. BTW, have I ever mentioned that procrastination comes to me naturally?

No... You never mentioned that 6 years ago when you were asking about lumber for your New Haven (Or was it a Norwalk Islands...) Sharpie.... :D

I feel your pain - literally. SWMBO has decided the Jacuzzi tub has to go and *I* need to construct a HUGE walk-in shower with multiple rain heads. Hey, maybe I could use the Jacuzzi tub parts to build an outdoor hot tub!

Paul Pless

No it wasn't. Couldn't have been.Yeah it was. I still have a bunch of long leaf pine and cypress for it and for other stuff. No oak, but I've recently come into a bunch of locust. . .

I'd recommend this tile saw, Paul: http://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-D24000-1-5-Horsepower-10-Inch-Tile/dp/B0006FIOA2

(http://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-D24000-1-5-Horsepower-10-Inch-Tile/dp/B0006FIOA2)Tile is lot more work than people realize. Both physically and length of time it takes.

Depending on the tile, dont skip any impregnator or sealer steps. And here's another tip: Dont use your used thinset or orange Home Despot buckets for white grout! Clean white buckets only.
