I need to ship a 14' lap-strake whitehall from Michigan to Connecticut, From a commercial location to a residential. Any suggestions would be great. I really need a company that will hand unload the thing on the other side.

Any household moving company will be able to handle your move. United Van Lines, Atlas, Mayflower, etc. to name but a few.

I have not used this outfit, but several people on the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association forums have had good experiences with, and recommend this fellow, who specializes in transporting canoes, kayaks, and light boats:

I've shipped boats cross-country using KAS Transport a couple of times and was very happy with their service (the price seemed pretty reasonable, too). It's very nice to use a shipper who understands what a boat is and that they can be broken if you aren't careful with them. If they can handle it, I doubt you can do much better.

By contrast, the last boat I had shipped in by truck freight was "lost" for two weeks somewhere between Seattle and Wisconsin before they finally found it. Back when I was a canoe dealer, it wasn't unusual for about 50% of the special ordered boats to be smashed by the freight companies, including examples where the tines of a fork lift had passed all the way through both the box and the boat and they just sent it through as if it was no big deal.
