After two years of lusting after it, the only known gaff rigged Teal is now mine. She's superbly balanced, sails in next to nothing and will become my primary boat come next year. Figured you all might want a look at her. I call her Blue Flower. We'll get the upper works repainted, name boards made, mast varnished and other odds and ends taken care of. More then enough to keep me busy until next spring. The easy part is sailing, hard part is putting in the time!

Captain Maxwell, I dearly wish you could be in Seattle tomorrow with your fellow comrades in arms at the HomeBuilt Boats Show. Blue Flower would be welcome indeed!

I am pleased to say that Andrew Linn, Mike and Myself have decided to meet up at the Home Built show next year. Andrew is planning on bringing some of his Skin on Frame work, I'll bring Blue Flower and Mike will bring his Teal. Unless he's built something else by then. I do miss you guys and wish I was there! Next year though, next year!

Wow! I am completely infatuated with your boat!
I followed the link to your association and saw other pics of Blue Flower and agree that she "hearkens back to the the great age of sailing ships once so common in the worlds waters."
Would it be possible to see more close up pictures of it? I'd love to see how the bowsprit is attached and the mast stepped. Also, does it have a center or dagger-board?
In short, "More please!"

Thats a awesome boat!!!
My first [and as of yet, only] build was a Teal. Awesome little boat, and I beat and abused it for over 10 years without a hickup!!

So you were the destination of Andyrew's road trip! Well, congrats on your new boat. I hope you have a grand old time with it. You'll need to stay alert when it starts to get gusty.

Aha yes I was! Credit does to Andrew and Pat P. for this vessel. I just own it :) Before I build my first boat I had seen pictures of her. This is why that first build had belaying pins and a bowsprit. So I guess now it's come full circle. Here are two links for the vessel.

If you hit up the main site http://www.andrewlinn.com you'll find out more about this boat and a few others. And marathons. And boat burning. And hiking. Oh and canoeing.....

Nice to see another well done Teal! I do wonder how many have actually been built over the years.
