And that's a thingy that smoothly takes us back or onto another thingy without being to obvious or jarring, narratively speaking.
I really like the flying boat and surprisingly (to me) I rate it as cool as the rockets. Dunno what's come over me........We don't know how lucky we are....Comment

Mobile sent a delegation with the EADS folks to try and see if they could drum up some business for the city. I'm sure it was tough to get volunteers for that one.

Re: Paris
I like the way it scoops its water payload - 12,000 pounds in fourteen seconds. The plane is also easily reconfigurable from firefighter to cargo to medi-vac to passenger.Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.Comment

I was in Tomar earlier this year and saw neither the lake nor that fancy flying boat, though I did see the castle that was wrestled from the Moors !
Thank you.Comment

Re: Paris
As an aside, it would seem that the pilots on that flying boat must be rather skilled to maintain proper attitude at all times while scooping, due to those two jet engines ready to scoop up too..... and flame out.
Do prop-engined airplanes create suction pressure anywhere as high as do jet-engined ones ? Several cases reported of ground staff being sucked in by jet-engined planes...Last edited by carioca1232001; 06-23-2011, 08:45 AM.Comment
