Aw crap. That hurts just watching it.

I tried to imagine watching that happen to my boat - with all the work I'm putting into it right now, that truly would hurt to have something like that happen to it.

I was surprised to see people on the docks when it came in. OTOH, no, I'm not surprised.

Remember those five people who got washed out to sea? They were standing on a sand bank trying to photograph the tsunami, so it's not like they didn't know it was coming.

John your link put the former one in perspective, didn't it? Just shocking. Not to say the Santa Cruz event wasn't real, but there is barely any comparison.

Thanks John. I've seen that video too.

The 5 people washed out to sea reminds me of the tornado chasers in the midwest. I guess if you want to take those risks you need to be prepared for the consequences.
