View Full Version : I have finally entered the ranks of the gainfully underemployed...

which is certainly a step up from being in the ranks of the gainfully UNemployed!! :D I'll be working as the landscape co-ordinator for MOFGA, the Maine Organic and Growers Association. I'll be managing the display gardens, the hayfields, the grounds around the offices and barns, the compost and recycling center and helping with repairs and maintenance to the buildings. Most likely I'll also be cleaning the bathrooms!!

It's part time at present, could become full time if I want it to be, and quite possibly in a couple of years, I could be doing something entirely different inside the organization.

Looking forward to it.

Congrats on the job Joe!
We are now in the same club. I was a Multi-family/Single-family/Commercial Prop. Construction Superintendent. I now install siding, roofing, frame, paint, etc.
Sucks when you have to pay the price for other people fncking the economy all to hell.

Joe,

Glad tidings! Another datum, the sum of which adds up to the following: the economy is continuing to lurch its way toward recovery - with all the surety and grace of a newfound foal. Glad the recovery has snagged you.

Excellent - we've all taken plenty of BS - but getting paid to do something creative with it, now that's special.

All the best.

Congratulations Joe, a job, even a part one, takes a load of your mind and this sounds interesting.

Thanks all, I am looking forward to it. It comes just in time, we're almost finished building the house and I've
been at loose ends the last couple of weeks. I did make the mistake of saying that to SWMBO and she said, "No
problems, I've got a list that'll keep you busy for the next fifty years!!" :D

Yup we voted for change. How do you like it.
twice the drive with a 40% cut in pay is not the change I was praying for, but it is the one we live in.

We have heard this blame game for 2 years now , Now it has switched to comments like yours that MB is a lunatic and Norms Bumper sticker slogans.

What plans do you see being implemented by the Democrats to improve the economy?

HEY! WE CLOSED GITMO, er, um, I mean... WE GAVE OUT OVER 1000 exemptions to "affordable" health care, and we spoke strongly to what's his face over there before investing in time on the golf course in the wake of the Japanese catastrophe.but only after reprimanding the Repugnicans for attaching riders to a budget bill, because WE NEVER STOOP THAT LOW!! STOP BEING SUCH A RACIST HATEMONGER!!! (lj, how did I do? ) Why does the rest of our County Democratic club consider me an oddball? :D

so once again a thread about something simple- someone getting a job- has been turned into the same stupid arguments that go nowhere.

That sounds like a good gig. My son was doing the same thing there 2 summers ago on a limited basis. He's graduated to working for a major corporation now...Subway. Hey, do you still need to borrow a bilge pump? I can't imagine anything has dried out around this time of year....
