We've gone the whole summer without seeing one, but a neighbour got bitten by one in his bathroom. (It's an old house with many gaps). Now I've said that I'll probably see one in the garden today.

just a garter snake... nothing poisonous here in my neighborhood since my last girl friend left

Ah, it's been years since I've woken up to the sight of a half-eaten mouse on the pillow. I fixed the last little hole they were getting in. Plus, the cat(indoor only) is getting old and lazy.

My old mixed bred used to follow my bush hog..Every day she waddled around chasing, killing and eaing field mice..I don't think she even tasted them..one bite and gulp..gone.. Animals are often that way.
Had a red tailed hawk that recognized the sound of the tractor starting up every tie. Came out of no where but still managed to grsb a few being spat out of the back of the bush hog.

in the summer when i mow pastures i have sparrows circle me , with all the insects stirred up it's a buffet on the wing
