Re: Ron Williamson
Yup.
I just tried to send a message...posting from the Children's Hospital (CHEO), where we'll be staying until tuesday at least & maybe longer.
We have good wireless internet, here, so I'll check in again later. -

Re: Ron Williamson
Don't really know yet, Bob. We had a little ambulance ride down from the Wakefield ER, yesterday...sirens and all, very exciting. Since then, it's been CT scans, MRIs, lots of blood tests, etc. They want to do a test that requires anesthesiology crew, but because of "Family Day" -- thanks, Dalton! -- they'll be on weekend hours until Tuesday. The good news is, the kid's well enough to wait a couple of days-- playing games, reading watching shows.
CHEO's a real gem. We spent three days here in November, and were blown away by the kindness and good humour of the staff. Lots of fun stuff for the kids to do...game rooms, mobile videos, volunteer "entertainment" staff, and top notch medical staff. It's stressful, but we feel like we're in good hands.
And spending a few nights in a children's hospital certainly puts one's other problems in perspective.Comment

Re: Ron Williamson
Dang Bruce, you're like the epitome of the Stoic Canadian here, I had no idea anything was up.

Re: Ron Williamson
Thanks, Paul. It's easy enough for me (to pretend) to be "stoic"...I'm not the guy on the gurney.
My youngest boy is the issue here, and he's a really brave kid. He's doing pretty well...cracking jokes, and all. He just told me he could guess exactly what I was doing on the computer right now...he guessed right, too.
He also said I was his "slave," and had to fetch him some ginger ale.Comment

Re: Ron Williamson
Hi Ron,
I'll PM our phone number, just in case we're out of the woods by the end of the week. We canceled a ski trip for next weekend...I was going to spend several days doing face plants from a snow board.Comment

Re: Ron Williamson
Bruce,
I hope all is well with your son.In the US this perverted idea of “blood and soil” over “constitutional principles” is the most radical and anti-democratic and anti-Conservative idea I have heard in my lifetime.

Re: Ron Williamson
Hope things turn out OK, Bruce. CHEO is a wonderful facility but I would rather be a visitor than have my child in there.
Ron, I will send you a PM with my phone number. Give me a call when it is convenient.Comment
