Several of us Delaware River TSCA'ers are in the process of building Melonseeds. We looked into posting our progress on a website and before long the project expanded to include the many designs that evolved along with MS from the bays and shores of NJ and the Delaware River basin.

For those with an interest in Melonseeds, Duckers, Tuckups, Railbird Skiffs, or any of the many designs from the area check out: TraditionalSmallCraft.com (http://traditionalsmallcraft.com/Moggie.html)

We envision this site as a "Wikipedia" for boats of this region, with inputs from those that have built and sailed them. If you would like to contribute we can post your information or link to your building site or blog.

I have been assisting Steve in the making of this website. We also want to trace the history of these popular boats. Thomas Eakins, the Philadelphia painter made fine oil paintings of:
Delaware Duckers, Starting Out after Rail
Tuckups and Hikers, Sailboat Racing on the Delaware
Railbird Skiffs, Pushing After Rail
