The breeders of thoroughbreds in Ocala Florida have done similar things. I paid a visit to a cabinet project at one of the horse farms a few years ago and found the main house was attached to the horse barn.

I knew it by the smell before I saw it with my eyes.

If you're ever up in the Thousand Islands between N.Y. and Canada, there is a huge stone mansion on one of the islands called Bolt Castle. It's now a tourist attraction and on the island next door is the mansion's boathouse. HUGE. Built so that this guy's 100' steam yacht, with aux. sails, could fit inside without taking down the masts. Reminded me of the place shown in this video.

If you're up that way, visit Bolt Castle and boathouse (full of classic old wooden boats) and also the Antique and Classic boat museum in Clayton, N.Y., not far away.
