I have a problem with my macerator pump that I need some help with.
When I try to pump out the holding tank the pump whines as though no waste is getting to it and nothing passes. What I have done a couple of time is reverse the wires powering the pump, thus running the pump in reverse for a few seconds. This solves the problem and the pump works like new.
I guess that I have a build up of sludge in the pump intake, the macerator blades, or in tank itself. So the question is how to clear the sludge. Will pumping plain water through do the job? Should I mix a solution of water/vinegar or other acid? Any other solutions (pun Intended)?
As a compication, the tank is a flexible Vetus so I can't simply open an inspection port and clean the tank.
