Magnificent photo!
Agreed! Beautiful! And yes, we too wish we could have made it to your EBS. Happy birthday!

Thanks. Margaret took the photo. She says you're forgiven, but only if Amnesty makes it to this year's Welfare Fleet Cruise and graces us all with her presence. Commodore Mary Bauer could probably be convinced to designate Amnesty this year's "Queen o' The Fleet". http://forum.woodenboat.com/showthread.php?120156-Amnesty-Sails-Again!&highlight=
(Hint: Mary likes to drink, as we found out, so plying her with libations may get the desired result. :p)

Dave - a belated happy birthday. The relatively large river that I pass on my way to work in the morning still has a small amount of open water and columns of mist hung in the air both still and un-moving this morning in the -17F air. I wish I'd stopped the car to take a picture.

I saw Marmalade Sunday when the ice was just creeping up to her. Today I went down to Osterville and Crosby's had a little tug out breaking up the ice around the docks. Warmer tomorrow.

Later in the morning the Coast Guard 47 footer here was out doing donuts in the cove to the right of where the photo was aimed. Can't let the ice build up in their channel to the sea!

-17 degrees, Canoez?!!! Ooof. No thanks.

Didn't last long. Today's high was about 16F. I did, however, discover that the propane-fired guns for shrink-wrapping boats RULES for melting ice off of the top of shipping containers!

Not nearly as cold now but the ice has spread out across the harbor as far as I've ever seen it:
