Seriously.

I'd realized they'd done foster care, but I hadn't realized it was 25 kids over the years. That's above and beyond! It's easy to talk, and not so easy to walk. Kudos.

I always think about how Ed is in tune with the real needs of other people's lives, and what I think Phoenix was meant to be about. A mensch.
Good call, Jack.

+ 10 I had six of my own with three wives.......and I raised/adopted an additional four. Outta 10 kids 8 were boys and 2 girls and I can only imagine in my nightmares 25 kids. I am just now coming on board and dealing with grandcritters. They have hearts of gold and the patience of Job.

Dang, it's awfully early in the year to be making such a declaration, but thank you.

Besides, you know what General Sherman had to say on such an occassion. Further more, like Groucho, I wouldn't join a club that would have me.

To be clear, we didn't have 25 kids here at once - they were spread out a bit. Some were years, some were months, some were weeks, and yes, some were days. There are others who've done much, much more.

And, besides, we only did it for the money.

Now I just happen to know that there's at least one other party within this joint that has similar experience, but I'll not embaress him by spilling his secret.

Oh, we had one of our last here for a visit today. If there are any good phots I'll post a few up. Tough day - he found out that cross-country skis/skiing are/is different from downhill. Combine that with a general unwillingness to believe what you tell him and you can imagine the results! ;)

Ah youth!

And Good on you and your bride for helping all of them.

Help? There are those who'd question that! Bad influence, that's me.

Great choice. They are wonderful, caring people with hearts of gold.

Ed, is the pics of the young "pre-man" to whom I've been writing cards?

Indeed, that's he.

We were doing a bit of clean up after his visit. He's not exactly perfect in this department - better with Sheryl cuz I ain't so bright at planning, LOL. Anyway, we have this bunch of keys (a small box full) that Sheryl brought up from Mum's. There were just a few keys scattered about ;) We had some company today, one got to looking thru the box, which was still out (awaiting more keys). As she stood examining one particular key I exclaimed, "Hey, that's THE KEY to Poppie's TOOLBOX!!!!" I don't really know how long the two have been separated - if I was to say 60 years I'd probably not be far off. Pretty amazing.

Not to mention a live-in Mom! Usually a heart that large comes with a scary diagnosis. Not so with these two.

I'm in awe!

Anyone who has worked human services, as I have a fair bit, realises that there are dozens, hundreds depending on the locale, of unparented kids out there. Being single, I'm probably not a good candidate for foster parent, but I could go volunteer at a foster shelter.

Nice pics, Ed. I hope he's doing well.
