A student at the French Archaeological School in Athens is building my NUTMEG sailboat, Bolger's FEATHERWIND design with modifications,

He e-mailed me that he will require a certificate from a naval architect that the design is seaworthy in order to register the boat with the Greek CG. Does anyone have local knowledge of what is required?

In Argentina, a BIRDWATCHER builder who first built NUTMEG was confronted by a CG official who told him such a freak design could not be allowed. He only changed the bureaucrat's opinion by taking him sailing and deliberately capsizing the boat.

You may find information at the Hellenic Register of Shipping (http://www.hrs.gr/) . Have you contacted Phil Bolger about getting technical info for registry? He may also be able to help with your specific task.

Regiistry regulations can be pretty Byzantine at times; be prepared to be frustrated. ;)
