In a pinch I've used "the" CAD system to create non standard scales. Print and glue on to suitable backing.

As an architect, let me tell you.... There are scales and there are scales. There's those triangular one, 12" long, that you can flip and flip all day long, then there are those lovely 6" flat ones with 4 scales that can be read this way and then that way. My personal favorites, over the years have been those manufactured for Charrette of Woburn and/or Boston. Their number on my 6" favorite is: 281908. But beware: mine is probably 15 years old. K+E makes them, if they are still in business. And there were a bunch of wonderful scales out of Australia a number of years ago -- nice flat ones, even at 12", that had just 2 scales so that the scale layed down flat on the paper with the scaled edge beveled down to what you're measuring. Alas, my scales are scattered all over the shop, the boat shed, this desk...--you can never have enough. Call Charrette and ask them what they've got this season of CAD.

Best in days gone by were K&E or Theo. Altender of Philadelphia.
Do a search NOT on Ebay but enter the makers name in Google there are folks out there that deal in drafting stuff as well as 'slip sticks'.
