And it worked. Many people were deceived. Some of the people right here at WBF were duped. Tragic. Unconscionable. PolitiFact calls it their Whopper of the Year for 2010.

Who benefits from the "big Lie"?
Not the poor being manipulated to believe that they are acting in their own interest when in fact they are only benefiting the rich and big business, Oh and the right wing pollies that pushed the lie that will see the duped elect them in a landslide!

Of course this is not the only big lie orchestrated by the Republicans. It is amazing how effective it can be. Too bad Americans are so easily manipulated.

Is there any country on earth where the majority of the populace isn't so easiy manipulated?

But people should take personal responsibility for falling for the lie. It's not the liar's fault that he or she was believed.

The sad part is that health care in the US still costs way more than the believers can afford.

And I believe that the new law isn't going to change anything. Healthcare costs will continue to rise. The horse has the bit in it's teeth...But I'll wait and see what happens..

Is this the beating a dead horse thread? None of it matters really and none of it is what it seems.

It seems strange, but Russia came to mind when I pondered the question. They know their politicians are full of it. They know they're corrupt as hell. They aren't ruled by manipulation, but rather by resigned consent.

It's good to see they still clash with the police quite a bit though.
