    Obama's new Children's Book

If there is a previous post I missed it. An interesting review. The Pres. wrote this for his daughters, Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters.

The book features 13 American “heroes” whose traits the president sees in his daughters. Interesting 13 heros. I'm surprised at a couple.

        Re: Obama's new Children's Book

Sent a copy to my Grandson for Christmas.

Jane Adams is one of the subjects. She figures large around here in Rockford, IL as the founder of Rockford College.

I wasn't surprised at the other subjects. Obama isn't a WASP, ya'know; he has a wider vision than a lot of folks.

The review which you pasted, written by Selwyn Duke, is ignorant, biased, and smarmy.

Yeah, that Duke comes across as an ignoranus, alright.

What are you doing about it?

The New American is a front for the John Birch Society, fwiw.

In addition to political topics, The New American also publishes articles about economics (from a free-enterprise perspective of course!), culture, and history. It is published by American Opinion Publishing, a wholly owned subsidiary of The John Birch Society.

                ignoranus?

Where's spellcheck when you need it?

Not even a smilie, Bud. Sneaky, that....

I thought it would fire em up. I know Cuyahoga didn't even look at the review, else he would be the loudest whiner. Oh well, I learned a new word, smarmy. That will have a lot of application down here in the bilge. But anyway my ol English teacher would be proud of this crowd. She always said "consider the source".

                    Ignoranus.

(I don't use spellcheck and I very, very rarely make spelling errors. If you don't believe me, ask Ish. )

I'm glad he took the time to write a book. Unlike most who wrote books of any kind they waited until their terms ended.

Yes I applaud his efforts but there is a time and place. And this ain't one of them.

In case some did not know, he did the actual writing before his presidency.

Great selection of interesting people - broader than "Profiles in Courage" though both books have people who were not universally admired either in life or after - and written without the assistance of a brilliant writer.

I took a well known name to get it published.. Okay I accept that

How brilliant does a writer of a childrens' book have to be?

OK, Dr Suess, Grimm, and several others excluded. But hey, when I was a kid I never had a book written by a President. My daughter will be pointing out to the grandson, and his infant sister, who the Author is.
