Someone emailed me who would like to build a simple, dry land, play boat for her kids in the yard. Can anyone give me a link to a dead simple skiff design that would give her the dimension to lay out sides and bottom?

I think I saw just the thing somewhere here a few days ago but now I can't find it.

Roger, has she thought about asking all the little kiddie's Dads if someone would put one together if she buys the materials ? I would think one of them would not mind making a play boat for the kids; after all, it's not like it has to be authentic.

How about placing an ad on the community bulletin board, or the daily/weekly newspaper asking for a possible donation of an unwanted one? Or, maybe asking the Harbormaster, the Coast Guard guys or even the local police to "keep an eye out" for a derelict, abandoned, or unused one around town.

I can't imagine someone not wanting to help get toys for the little kids.
