I ran across this the other night- thought it might be of interest to those seeking to build a traditional looking trailer sailer with a bit more room than most. Go to www.dixdesign.com, (http://www.dixdesign.com,) look for what's new, then scrool down to the Cape Cutter 19' A nice looking boat!

I kind of like it.
If the "over-sized anchor well" in the foredeck is as well-drained as they claim, it may be a good idea (a roundabout way of having bulwarks).
I think I'd be happier if the bridge deck were a little higher, though.

I purchased the first set of plans...I chased Mr. Dix for almost a year to make the plywood version available. I think it will make a nice project and a neat daysailor when you don't wanna mess with the big boat......He visited here for a few hours and there will be a approx. 25 and 30 foot versions.

I like it.
It would be interesting to see how it translates into plywood. Some other nice boats on that site as well.

The line drawing shown on the site makes it look like Karl Stambaugh's Mist, which was designed for plywood on sawn frames. I've been trying to find anyone who's built one, without success. This design has at least the virtue of having been built, though the web site pics are probably the fibreglass, not the plywood version.

Dudley makes some pretty boats in my opinion. This one would look nice in the back yard.

There was an evaluation article in Water Craft about a S. African company making them commercially. Apparantly they're competitive in the UK market even with shipping.
(edit) Oops, I see someone has already mentioned the S. African company.
