Adding insult to the Gulf's injury, a wellhead hit by a tug boat is now spewing oil near a Louisiana marsh area, officials said Tuesday.
The oil is shooting up 20 feet into the air, the office of Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser said.
"We cannot catch a break," Deano Bonano, Jefferson Parish emergency management director, said in a note to parish officials.
The well is in inland waterways on the border of Plaquemines and Jefferson parishes, about 65 miles south of New Orleans; it's marsh area not accessible by road.

I can't find an actual picture of a well head platform but here's a good diagram.
These are all over the place in the area of this spill, typically shallow water and near shore. They're substantial structures and not easily damaged.
I used to trade helicopter rides to the shrimpers for a cooler full of shrimp and oysters. I really feel for the folks in that area.

You guys do not seem to have a shortage of oil down there! I really find this quite upsetting, the stuff seems to just shoot out of the ground. My heart goes out to the locals.

It's all just simply pathetic ... perhaps the captain was paid to divert some attention! :(
