When you consider that the photographer had to move his glass plate and switched the filter twice in each shot the quality of the images with animals is incredible.

Very, very cool. SWMBO's maternal family is Russian, and she grew up with a lot of the Russian traditions. She also has a BA in Russian Studies, speaks passable russian and did her Master's thesis on Russian migrant labor in the 1920's.

I get a lot of russian culture here in the house. The pics are fascinating.
