...a monster!

Really.

Lefty sent along a bottle of his home-made ginger beer. (No fatalities from bottle opening, BTW...) While I'm not normally one for hard liquor, Chuck's gift of the bottle of rum was so smooth I had to go looking for one locally. Sooo...

SWMBO had a small sample in a glass - very out of character for the family oenophile. Being from the UK, she decided to try it with a little ice, some of Lefty's home-made ginger beer and a splash of lime.

Well, the one-drink wonder then decided that she'd compare with a second one after dinner with some Regatta...

As would be said in Bahstahn, I think we've created a monstah!

(Oh, and Doug - I think we'll require the instructions for creating more!)

Was that rum not the smoothest thing you've drunk! What a splurge!
Thanks so much for the taste there, Chuck.
And yes, Douglas, how about spilling the beans on the ginger beer recipe.

The recipe is really very simple.... It's !!@#$%^&*($%^&!@#$%^&*(
And then let it sit in a cool dark space for 3-4 weeks, then refrigerate before serving....

Do you guys have a name for rum and ginger beer over there? Here it's called a "Dark and Stormy" and is very popular (and the ideal seasickness cure).

Yes.... It's called a "Dark and Stormy"...
When made with golden rum instead of dark rum, it's called a "Foggy Morning". (My name, so it's proprietary to The PUB..... But you can use it ;))
