I just got off the 'phone from speaking with George., SailorDave, & Phillip whom all made it safely to Lunenburg late last evening. We had to cut the conversation short due to the customs folks arriving onboard to clear them in to the country. I told them to go to the Knot Pub for lunch - it was the best that I could do under the circumstances. They are leaving for Cape Breton and Newfoundland tomorrow morning and I am at work 250 kms away, so I will not have opportunity to meet with them personally. However, it is a spectacularly clear, warm, sunny summer day so they will have ample opportunity to discover Lunenburg without me.

Have fun, guys...

Pics, or it didn't happen, you 3.

And MMD? Being 250 km away isn't a sufficient excuse ... considering what you're doing at work these days, you should provide pics of that too! :D

Oh...... Poor, poor Lunenburg!.... I guess they've suffered worse, but..... It's still just so unfair to subject innocent folks to that!...;) :D

TomF, after the aborted pictorial of the Portland fireboat build, I'm a bit shy about posting pics of another build involving that particular designer, a build in Canada for an American client, etc...

Besides, whe haven't built anything yet - I'm having cut-files created for plasma-cutting of plates and negotiating the details of the big-ticket item orders - engines, electrical system, and fire-fighting equipment - which are rather non-photogenic subjects. The construction so far is limited to building the wood-frame building jig upon which the upside-down hull will be built.

But back to the subject at hand - I seriously considered bailing out early this afternoon to drive over to Bridgewater, see the guys in Looneyburg for the evening, and driving back here at oh-dark-thirty tomorrow morning, but I also have to be away from the shipyard on Friday afternoon, so didn't feel it was responsible to miss so much time in one week, especially as we are at a rather management-intensive phase of the project right now. Cést la vie...

Notice that those errant sailing b@stards didn't have the courtesy to find an internet connection while drinking in Lunenburg. Nasty sots!

With luck, we'll have some reports once they hit Newfoundland.
