In 1998 Wb had an article about a Falmouth Cutter type by Paine. I am looking for anyone with experience with the plans for this boat??

Bromleigh, you don't mean this boat by any chance, do you?

Mike

I've been looking for a small gaff-rigged boat that can be trailered. What boat does your drawing show? Are plans available? Thanks

John, this is David Payne's Snapper Boat.

Have a look at http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=1231924&a=13799144&f=0

Mike,
That Snapper is a beauty! Do you have any more info on it, specs, study plans available? Thx.

Mike, have a look at the photo-site. (Sorry to sound cryptic, but you'll see why when you get there.)

Ah yes,
I failed to notice the fine print on my first visit http://media5.hypernet.com/~dick/ubb/wink.gif...too taken by all those beautiful boats! I'll be in touch. Thanx!

Mike

I've contacted Wooden Boat Fittings via email asking how to order plans for David Payne's boats, but alas, they do not respond. I don't find any mention of Mr. Payne's designs on their web site either. Is Wooden Boat Fittings the correct contact? Is there another source of plans for Mr. Payne's boats?

Thanks

Which just serves Mike Field right for having 2!!! email addresses. Oh I should be so lucky. or unlucky.
I think Mike is out retrieving the boat hook I sent him some months ago but I'm sure he'll be spinning his wheels and frothing at the mouth as soon as he sees this.
He's a nice fellow but don't tell him I said so.

JohnK,
I also wrote shortly after that post, and have yet to receive a reply. JohnB, thanks for the heads up, I'm sure he'll get back to us when he checks his email, or finds that boat hook, or sees people waving money under his nose, or..... http://media5.hypernet.com/~dick/ubb/wink.gif

The only place I've found so far that mentions Payne's designs (as far as offering plans)or shows sketches or pics is the link Mike F gave above. A Google search turned up a 50-something-foot steel schooner, or something similar that didn't interest me, that's it.

Oh yeah, apollogies to Bromleigh for hijacking the thread--I dug out that WB issue, and the Paine (sic) design he's asking about ain't the one Mike F suggested.

Okay guys. Sorry. Check your email shortly.

John, that boathook floats flat. I've been trying to pick it out of the water for three days.

Not that one Mike. The one that sank when Kirsty dropped it o/board. The one we found because it had it's head in the mud and the handle just sticking out of the sea on a spring low. That one. It's yours now. You can get it any time.

I'm losing track of all these boathooks, JB. You mean I've got to come to NZ at low water springs, is that right?
