This is a new design by B&B.

I intend to sell my Core Sound 17 so I can build one. I'd like any opinions on this design.

The way I see it, I can still launch from a causeway, but have performance similar to my Core Sound 17...not to mention a cabin.

Thanks Gordy,

That's a sweet boat. I been eyeballing the CS 17 for a while. I really like these boats.

This will be a nice little boat. If I didnt have my heart set on building the Princess 26 I would have to look at this one. In fact may kick around buiding one anyway, to finance the Princess.
I love B&B's designs. The Princess and Core sounds are beautiful useable boats.

Gordy.
I just found out about Grahams new design two days ago.
I'll give you my opinion.
I falls right into most of the categories I feel are important for me.

Fast and uncomplicated plywood construction.
You can fit it out as fine as you like (or not)
Easley trailered <recovery and launch>.
Two rigs to choose from.
Ballasted with good Knockdown recovery for this type of boat. (80 degrees)
Not a dead flat bottom....slight V.
Sitting headroom with a galley area and porta loo.
Just the right size for me.
Good cabin to cockpit ratio. I would prefer a bit smaller cockpit and self draining...
Suited for camp cruising.
Good windward performance.

I think if they can get 10 knots out of a CS 17 or 20, chances are a good turn of speed
might be had from the Belhaven.
I plan to build a boat very much like this (eventually) in a few years. The boat I have suits me fine for now.
I will be keen to see what the first ones turn out like, see some images of them and find out
just how good (or bad) they might be.
I was really pleased that B&B come out with this design. I am sure it will be a popular design for them.
It fills a category in which I have not seen a lot of choices. I really like some of John Westford's designs as well.
I hope you end up building one.

...I just reread the specs on the Belhaven. It DOES has a self draining cockpit. Now I think I am in serious love.
It is scary how close this boat comes to my ideal.
I was at a point where I was considering commissioning someone to design the boat I wanted.

Jake. I go to the Messin site all the time. The new format is wonderful, though it will take some getting used to. I found the old site style very awkward and slow and that kept me away more than anything. A good bunch of folks over there for sure.
Thanks for the compliments. I just finished a very interesting double neck. Serious stress involved there.
Cheers, TT :D

The Belhaven is now the Belhaven 19. Being three inches longer, among other things, allows one to strech out on a cockpit seat.

I want one.
