Really scary to see how much of this boat looks like furniture yet is big and moves like the wind. I'm glad there were no interior shots! I would have been paralyzed!!
Thanks waynec!!

One would think for all that wood and money that there would be "cedar bucket" on board. Check out the last couple of pics.

I'm not sure I would be able to sail that, I would be to afraid to scratch it or damage it in some way

...looks like furniture
Hmmm...yes and its too much candy...I am getting caries ;)
Honestly, I think a boat is a tool to use and should look like used tool, after being used. Its ok to polish it once in a while, but this gleaming varnished wood is just a bit too much for my taste. The other thing is that the teak doesn't look right. It should have the typical silver look that comes with being out in the sunlight.
Thanks for the link though :)

No chaffing gear where the lines go over the side, spring line made fast to the SHROUD????

I think that's a fender & the springs are hooked to the winches (look a couple of pics ahead form the one where it looks like a spring is attached to a shroud). Of course the aft cleat doesn't look any too rugged.....

Maybe she's not alowed out on sunny days?

I expect that the designers and builders pray daily for the continued health and prosperity of the owner.
As do I, Mr Tofias takes a lot of criticism but he has certainly enhanced the yachting scene, he could do worse things with his money.

Since Arawak (ex Christmas), he's been behind some wonderful boats.

Isn't Arawak/Christmas still in his 'stable'?

Aside from the beautiful woodwork, I don't care much for the overall shape of the thing.

For the benefit of us ignoramuses, could someone explain how the companionway hatch gets past the mast?
It just slides up to the mast, the sail cover is fitted badly and that's why it does not look right.

Well, but he could buy and care for a boat like this...as another person I know, who earns a lot of money has done:

But unfortunately it is very seldom that very rich people decide to spent their money on projects like this. Very often they are content to drive around in rediculously expensive, while also ugly motoryachts.
Not true of this guy Martin
This is just one of his boats

This drawing shows how the companionway slide is rigged: http://www.swwyachtdesign.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/W-37-Davis-Plan.jpg
I like the bowsprit's 'bobstay' setup also. Very stiff.
Similar to Sjogin in fact

Oh no...apart from the strange looking "backside" the bowsprit/bobstay arrangement is really ugly. What is wrong with a plain pole?

By chaffing hear I meant between the hull and the lines, not the hull and the dock.

So - is this a new combo word - combining "looking" & "drooling"? :D

Amongst my useful German words "Arsch" but that may mean buttock lines

Peeling the bark is a nice refinement.
