I don't think my fellow Coot, Andrew, will mind if I share his foto-essay about his recent OBX jaunt. I nice little bit of small boat adventure sailing, in company with a few other madmen.

Andy is one of the most peripatetic of Coots. He has taken his little boat from Oregon down to the Texas 200 several times. This trip, he hooked up with a buddy, and his Michalak "Laguna" small sailboat, in Oklahoma. They then drove out to the Outer Banks. He'll go darned near anywhere for a bit of sailboat fun.
I wonder what's next. Finland? Germany? Crab Nebula?

Very cool, I am an Andrew fan and like his photo essays. The TX200 pieces are among my faves on the web. 200 miles in a PDR....

Another great picture/commentary assemble. Looks like great adventure and tons of fun!
Really nice to get multiple pictures of the Laguna and Mikesboat underway. As much as I'm embarrased to say this, I always thought (from previous pictures) the Mikesboat was flat-bottomed. Oops!

Nice area. Did you have any trouble with tacking upwind in the shallows?

m,
Sorry... not my adventure. One of my mates, Andrew. I haven't even seen him since he got back from NC, because he's off again. This time to Texas for the Texas200:

Boatburning - a fine old Coot tradition. The Texans should be happy that no firearms and gas cans were involved with THIS burning...
