Out here in Singapore, the shelf life for the hardner of Int'l Perfection Varnish, is all too short. (the hardner gets block hard in the can)
Our local Int'l Paint distribuator, will not sell the hardner component without selling the resin or paint, too. (won't break up the set )
Does anyone know of a substitute hardner that I can purchase and use ?
Would Bloxogen (sp-?) help extend the hardner shelf life ?

same thing happens every wher e I'll bet. I have 4 or 5 half filled can of perfection paint and varnish with no" catalist" I stopped using Interlux LP's and switched to Epifane just cuz the hardener comes in a better container.

I'd contact the Interlux tech support people. They may have a fix. Hopefully, there's someone closer than NJ.
In the Awlgrip system, the paint, activators and solvents are sold separately.

T Y , Jim, your reply is helping me think outside the box,,,,, like maybe I should change to using Awlgrip (Awlbrite ?) ,,, or even could I use Awlgrip hardner on my remnant L/P Perfection paint and varnish ????

My experience is that these catalyzed products are generally too tightly engineered to allow for backyard chemistry. I agree your best bet is to give the Interlux tech support folks a call. If you explain that you're in a jam, they might be able to give you a home-brew formula that'll work in a pinch (but I doubt it).

Something to remember the next time we make purchase decisions. This is an issue to factor.
