the ribs were then drilled and temporarily fastened with (staging) nails.

steam pipe. all S/S this time. (my air-conditioning ducting I had used for the previous 2 yachts finally rusted through)! this one is up for grabs to anyone who wants it after the planking is done.

with the ribs in place, the hull shape really takes form now.

Lovely work Bernadette, I don't know scented maple ...a flindersia ..like maple , crow's ash etc ?

How are those sawn frames assembled ? Your resorsinol and screws ? They look very good indeed ! They're around 3'' x 3" ?

peter the scented maple is flindersia laevicarpa. a good bending timber! the sawn frames are png rosewood 3 laminations glued with resorcinol and screwed. its great working with dad and yes i am very fortunate on a number of counts. i think i frustrate him at times with my questions and me wanting to do things my way...but for the most part, we work very well together and have a good time cracking jokes and discussing lots of things throughout the day.
greg it was very hot and hard work bending the timber. i was having to change my clothes at lunchtime due to the amount of sweat pouring off me. no name yet for the boat but we joke around with names like "ketchup" because she has such a saucy stern!!!ha! ha!
