Opening day in Seattle

This Saturday is opening day of boating season in Seattle and already the traffic past my office and thru the locks is a sight. A bit ago two square riggers, Lady Washington and Hawaiin Chieftain (I think) went thru accompanied by the requisite news helicopters.

Yet as long as I've been boating in Seattle, I have yet to figure out when CLOSING day is.

At CWB, we're going to mark the end of boating season with a bit of a party up at Cama Beach. It'll be in the middle of October, though I can't seem to remember the date at the moment.

Get a cabin, bring some grillable items. Have a beer. We're going to call it CWB's Octoberboatfest, aka the end of boating season. (Double aka ... the start of boating-in-the-rain-season.

Not kidding, we're actually going to do this.
