There are some good designs that use mud brick reinforced with barbed wire. The trick would be keeping enough of a roof on it so that the rain wouldn't erode it.

Hurricane season is going to suck.

Really, the history of how Haiti has been exploited and ecologically devestated makes any - I'd not call it "recovery" - creation of a just working economy hard to even imagine.

Norman...if those pots are aluminum, I'd strongly suggest that they change them to stainless steel. They will last longer and the aluminum reacts with some foodstuffs in developing countries that contain acidic salts. The aluminum doesn't last long and is easily damaged. A metal match is another addition.

I just saw the strangest thing at Costco. For $8300, they will sell you a 12'x16' log cabin, only the "logs" are cardecking.
